Therapy the
Empowerment Way

Empowerment. This philosophy lies at the heart of my approach to therapy. If your mental health is causing significant distress, I firmly believe in your ability to take control and improve the quality of your life. As my client, you are always in the driver’s seat of your therapeutic journey. Together, we will explore the interplay between your thoughts, feelings, actions, and choices. You’ll gain the strength to navigate daily stressors, learn new skills, and ultimately enhance your overall well-being.

I can help you address a variety of issues including anxiety; depression; ADHD; bereavement, grief, and loss; and trauma. I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities into my practice, some of which are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT); Logotherapy; and Bereavement Companioning. My interventions are evidence-based, culturally affirming, and spiritually sensitive.

While I welcome all clients aged 18 and older, I have a particular passion for and experience working with individuals who identify as LGBTQ/Two-Spirit;  long-term HIV/AIDS survivors; survivors of religious and spiritual trauma; those coping with death, grief, and bereavement; senior citizens and Elders; AI/AN/Indigenous; those navigating sexual health.

I adhere to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics, ensuring I honor and protect:

  • Your dignity and respect
  • Your right to self-determination
  • Your privacy
  • Transparency in our work together
  • Your autonomy to start, pause, or stop therapy at any time

Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, I’ve had the privilege of living across the continental U.S., Hawai’i, and Northern Ireland. My career path has been rich and diverse, including roles as a funeral director, HIV/AIDS testing and program manager, community sexual health educator, and musculoskeletal soft tissue recovery tech.

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from UMass Global and hold additional degrees from the University of San Diego and Weber State University. I’m also the author of Voices Amidst Conflict: Gay Men in Northern Ireland, a research study delving into resilience and identity in marginalized communities.

When I’m not running my practice, you can find me indulging in my passions: traveling, gourmet cooking, reading, participating in community theater, visiting Disney parks, and planning my next Halloween display.
